Pole Sport - acrobatic tricks performed on a rigid vertical pole.
Pole Sport is a sport that has been gaining popularity and growing for a number of years now. The first countries to fiercely promote this sport were the USA, Russia, Ukraine and Australia. Currently, there are two global Pole Sport federations that organize national and international championships. Athletes from various countries travel and teach Pole Sport material in seminars and camps to enthusiasts from all over the world. Pole Sport is even aspiring to become an Olympic sport. In Lithuania, this sport is still young. The first studio opened its doors in 2012. We currently have two studios in Vilnius, two in Kaunas and one in Klaipėda. The Pole Sport community in Lithuania is rapidly expanding with an increasing number of women and men who are engaging in this sport.
Pole sport is divided into three main branches:
- Pole Sport – also known as Pole Fitness. It is intended for people focused on improving their body endurance and shape. The performed tricks require a high level of complexity and flexibility.
- Pole Art – a combination of pole tricks and contemporary dance. The performer tells a story through dance, focusing not only on pole skills, but also on the complexity of the dance.
Exotic – high heels dance, where the performer demonstrates a high level of flexibility and floor work. Exotic dance requires a lot of plasticity and dynamism. So far this type of dance is mostly practiced by women, whereas the first two types are represented by both men and women.
